I'm Alistdair. Pardo Unlocked is where I document trying to run a 5K in under 20 minutes at 43, with an AI coach called Ted doing the data crunching and me doing the actual running.

I'm not a coach, a sports scientist, or anyone you should take training advice from. I've got a day job, an MBA eating my evenings, a wife and daughter who couldn't care less about any of this, and a ten-year-old cockapoo called Bernard who runs with me in anything short of a blizzard. Everything on this blog gets tested on one 43-year-old body, mine, and reported honestly whether the number moves or not.

Ted does the thinking. The story is mine, and it's honest. No detail is made up, at least not on purpose. How This Is Made covers exactly where that line sits and why it matters to me.
